This technique involves exerting pressure using slow deep strokes to trigger points using fingers, fists, forearms, and elbows. This type of massage decreases spasms and break up muscle adhesions. It is most suitable for people who engage in highly physical activities or those with chronic pain.
TRIGGER POINT MASSAGE
The trigger point massage is also called Myofascial. This massage technique relieves skeletal muscle pain caused by muscle spasm. It tackles ‘muscle knots’. Here, the target of a therapist is on specific points of the body to reduce muscle pain.
In sports massage, the emphasis is on preventing and healing injuries to the muscles and tendons.
